Many of us have wondered if dogs even categorize other dogs as dogs. Or do they just see each other, sense that they’d be fun to play with, and go for it? Many of us feel this is the case. It’s the naked ape that feels the need to categorize and classify everything. This is necessary if we are to make progress in science, medicine, technology, etc. That, of course is the upside. We know too well the prejudices that this habit can also bring.
